Course ITU102 - ITU100 + ITU101

Networking DIY Basic Course
Student will learn the basic concept
of networking. Through the course, they will learn how
to build a scalable, reliable and efficient network
by using different network topologies and cables type
to different network environments. Also, the concept
of data flow and access control in the network will
be introduced. In addition, they'll also learn how to
administer the network by using different network operating
systems. Finally, students will have time to construct
a basic network by themselves.
Course Objectives
On completion of this course, participants
should have learnt:
- What is a network and how does
it work.
- What is network operating system
and how to use them to administer the network.
- What is NIC (Network Interface
Card), network cables and how to use them to construct
a network.
- How to use different connection
devices to connect or expand the network.
- How to use different tools
to troubleshoot the network.
- OSI Reference Model.
- Different network protocols.
- Different media access methods
used in the network.
- Overview of WAN technologies.
- How to install a basic network.
Networking DIY Advanced Course
In this course, students will gain
a deeper understanding of networking. The basics of
a Novell NetWare network and also some of the routing
protocols including RIP and OSPF will also be taught.
In addition, the function and use of DNS, WINS and DHCP
servers will also be introduced. Students will have
a better understanding of what is an IP address and
how to perform subnetting and supernetting in your network.
Course Objectives
On completion of this course, participants
should have learnt:
- What is an IP address.
- What is DNS, WINS and DHCP
server.
- What is routing protocol and
the operation of two routing protocols, RIP and OSPF.
- How to perform subnetting and
supernetting in a TCP/IP network.
- A basic understanding of how
Novell NetWare network operate.
