PC Upgrade and Maintenance
This course is designed for students
who are interested in PC hardware, for those whom wish
to learn how to upgrade and repair their own computers.
The aim of this course is to improve your understanding
of the computer hardware: You will develop a complete
understanding of how to decide on the right computer
parts to use, how to assemble PC parts together and
how to troubleshoot different type of day to day PC
related problems.
Course Objectives
On completion of this course, participants
should be able to:
- Identify different hardware
components inside the computer.
- Assemble a computer together
using the right computer parts and tools.
- Distinguish between different
types of CPU and the limitation of those CPUs.
- Choose the right computer parts
for upgrading and repairing.
- Have an overview on how computer
hardware works together.
- How to install peripherals
such as digital camera, printers and scanners.
- How to install computer parts
such as sound cards, hard drive, CD-Rom and modems.
- How to troubleshoot common
PC problem such as resource conflict and driver not
been installed correctly.
- Compare between operating systems
and which to use.
- Install and configure operating
systems to work with the hardware.
