I-Net+ certification is an entry-level
exam which targets individuals who are interested in
Internet related area. This certification provided by
CompTIA is a fast track to get you into the Internet
industry. Candidate will learn about maintaining Internet
site, Intranet and Extranet infrastructure, Internet
related applications operation etc.

Course Prerequisites
No experience using the Internet is
necessary. An understanding of Microsoft Windows and
browser is required.
Course Objectives
I-NET BASICS
During this topic students will be introduced to the
issues that affect the performance of a site and what
are the requirements. Students will be introduced to
terms like: Protocol, URL, ISP, Bandwidth, Server caching,
Domain Name etc.
I-NET CLIENTS
This topic will describe the infrastructure needed to
support an Internet client. Terms like TCP/IP stack,
Network connection, WINS, DNS, default gateway, subnet
mask, MIME types and their components, security, Virus
protection etc.
DEVELOPMENT
This topic introduces students to programming-related
terms e.g. API, CGI, client-side, server-side programming
languages. One important issue during Web development
is database design; this is the treasure of a company.
Another issue in Web development is the use of multimedia
and the benefit it adds to your site.
NETWORKING AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Describe the necessary components of the Internet infrastructure,
identify the problems with Internet connection, a detail
description on TCP/IP and other related protocols, an
introduction to Internet troubleshooting tools, the
purpose of servers will all be discuss in this topic.
I-NET SECURITY
This topic defines the terms related to Internet security.
The concepts behind Internet security, access control,
encryption, auditing authentication, SET (Secure Electronic
Transactions) will be discuss in this topic.
BUSINESS CONCEPTS
Internet business related issues would be discussing
in this topic. E-Commerce, copyright, trademark, licensing
and Internet laws related to business online will be
introduced.
CIW02 - Site Designer
The CIW Site Designer teaches students
the most advanced technologies and tools used in Internet
development, the principles of Web design, maintenance
issues will be discussed during this course. Students
will be introduced the latest strategies to develop
third-generation Web sites, create and managed by FrontPage2000,
Dreamweaver 3.0, Flash 5.0 and various multimedia, students
will also explore to the incompatibility issues of Web
publishing. The course focuses on theory and Web design,
along with information architecture concepts, Web project
management, and performance evaluations.

certification.

CIW03 - E-Commrse Designer
After this course students are able
to set up a fully functioning e-commerce site. Students
are also able to do a shopping cart, requiring difference
products in the database, checking the inventory in
stock, validation of credit card payment and shipping
issues. Other issues students learn will be how to complement
an existing business infrastructure with the use of
Internet and the maintenance and management issues.
Course Prerequisites
Students must have passed the CIW
Foundations/i-Net+ and be familiar with Web site design.
